Will my home insurance premium be reduced if I purchase “Stormproof” windows?
Many insurance companies give discounts for installing Impact Windows throughout your home. A rough guideline is in the range of a 4 – 15% discount. The premium reduction amount varies with each company. We suggest that you talk with your agent about specifics.
How long do my windows take to be installed from the time they are ordered?
The time from order to installation is approximately 2-4 weeks from the time you sign your contract. However, the closer we get to hurricane season the longer it takes, depending on how active the season is.

How do vinyl, aluminum and wood windows compare?
There is no comparison. Aluminum is a conductor of heat, while wood swells with high humidity. Vinyl is the best possible material to use in our sub-tropical climate of South Florida. Vinyl requires absolutely no maintenance except for cleaning the glass. Many of our window models make that easy with convenient tilt-in sashes.
How does a window qualify as “stormproof”?
There are many specifications required for a product to become an “Impact” approved Miami-Dade County window. The two most important tests are the results of Small and Large Missile Tests. What kind of timeframe could I expect for future service needs?
We have our own in house Service Team that we usually responds to service calls within 24-48 hours. In many cases our Service Manager has responded the very same day. This is unheard of in this industry. We take great pride in our staff and their response times, though in the event of a major storm, responses could be delayed a bit.
What maintenance is required for my new windows?
The only maintenance for your new windows is to clean them. We even make that chore easy with convenient tilt in sashes in many of our window models.
What causes condensation on windows? Will Hom-Excel’s windows prevent this?
What usually causes condensation on windows are the materials that are used to construct them. If a window is made with a single pane of glass and an aluminum frame they will “sweat”. The reason for this the meeting of cold and warm air masses (from the inside and outside). The chief reason they meet is due to the glass not being insulated. Our windows will not do this because they are made with thermal pane insulated glass which keeps the heat out and vinyl frames, which is not a conductor (as aluminum is).
Do you have any kind of incentive for your customers to send referrals your way?
Absolutely! We offer $100 for referrals that blossom into a sale. There is no limit to the number of referral bonuses that you can earn in a year.
